On 11 October 2012, the North American Chapter of the EUI Alumni Association was launched in New York. The event was celebrated with a dinner generously hosted by Joseph Weiler, EUI alumnus and Professor at the New York University School of Law. The first chapter meeting took place on 12 October 2012.

There are more than 100 alumni in the USA and Canada, half of them live and work in New York and Washington.
The New York Chapter will be set up as the reference point for all the activities and events of the Alumni Association in the USA and in Canada. On the occasion of the up-coming International Conference of Europeanists in Boston, there will be a meeting and reception with representatives of the Alumni Association to discuss the opening of this new North America branch.
