Degree Conferring Ceremony
The Degree Conferring Ceremony is open to alumni who wish to take part in a formal graduation event. It takes place each June in the church of the Badia Fiesolana. Participants are robed in academic gowns and receive a ceremonial Ph.D. or LL.M. diploma. Prizes for the best thesis in various fields are awarded, including the Mauro Cappelletti Prize, the François Mény Prize and the Linz Rokkan Prize. Every two years, honorary degrees are conferred on three distinguished academics and the Alumni Prize is awarded for the best interdisciplinary thesis.
The first Degree Conferring Ceremony took place in 1996, and was held bi-annually until 2002. Since then the increased number of Doctoral and Master degrees awarded annually means the event takes place every year.
The ceremony is a unique opportunity for our alumni to celebrate their Ph.D. or LL.M. degree together with their family and friends and the whole EUI community.
This year, the celebration takes place on Friday, 15 June.
Candidates for diplomas must register here .
The programme will be available soon.
