Academic Council

The Academic Council has general powers with regard to research and teaching at the European University Institute and lays down the rules that govern the Institute's academic life.

It appoints teaching staff, including assistants, and decides on the admission of researchers.

The Academic Council is chaired by the President. Its other members are all the professors, representatives of the research fellows, research associates and researchers, and the Librarian.

The Secretary General is an ex officio member.
