The European University Institute is under the threefold authority of the High Council, the President of the Institute and the Academic Council.
High Council
The High Council is the EUI's governing board. It consists of representatives from the Contracting States to the Institute's Convention.
The President
The President directs the Institute with the assistance of the Secretary General.
Academic Council
The Academic Council is the forum where academic life and rules are discussed and decided, and academic appointments are confirmed.
