Academy 2012 Summer Courses

Posted on Thursday 15th December 2011

The programmes for the Academy of European Law’s 2012 Summer School are now online.

The 2012 Human Rights Law course  includes a general course on ‘Human Rights between Individualism and Community Interests’ by Francesco Francioni, Co-Director of the Academy, and a series of specialized courses looking at the environmental dimension of human rights. We are also pleased to have a distinguished lecture by Abdulqawi A. Yusuf, Judge at the International Court of Justice.

The 2012 EU Law course  includes a general course focusing on structures of authority in the US and in Europe given by Daniel Halberstam from the University of Michigan, as well as a series of specialized courses on independence and legitimacy in the institutional system of the EU. The distinguished lecture by Gráinne de Búrca, a former Director of the Academy who is now at New York University, also promises to be very stimulating.

The application form for the summer school will be online in January 2012. The deadline for applications is 12 April 2012.
