How to Apply

 2010 Summer Courses

The 2010 courses will be held on the following dates: 

Human Rights Law course| - 14 - 25 June 2010

European Union Law course| - 28 June - 9 July 2010

 

The online application form is at the bottom of this page. Please read this page carefully before submitting the form. 

The deadline for completed applications is 22 March 2010 for scholarship applications and 12 April 2010 for other applications.

Your application will be complete when we have received your application form and a reference from a professor or an employer. The reference can be sent to the Academy by e-mail, fax or post. (See below for contact details).

No other documents are required.

 

Eligibility

Participation in the Academy's summer courses is open to advanced students of law or related fields and lawyers of all nationalities.

Enrolment numbers are limited and admission is based on merit.

 

Language

All classes are in English.

 

Enrolment Fee

The enrolment fee for the year 2010 is €400 for one course and €650 for both courses. 

The fee covers tuition, reading materials and lunches at the university cafeteria. The fee does not cover accommodation or travel costs.

If you cancel your enrolment before the course starts, 75% of the enrolment fee will be reimbursed.

 

Scholarships

The Academy awards six scholarships for each summer course. Post-graduate students from developing countries and from Eastern and Central Europe may apply. Applications can be made for only one course. Previous recipients cannot reapply for a scholarship.

The scholarship consists of a cash payment of 1,000 euros, which is a contribution towards travel and accommodation costs. The enrolment fee is waived for scholarship recipients. Decisions are at the discretion of the Directors of the Academy and are based on need and merit. You should request a scholarship only if it is absolutely essential.

Scholarship recipients are required to sit the Diploma examination on the final day of the course.

 

Schedule and Certificate of Attendance

Lessons are held from 10.00 to 16.30 every day. Attendance at all lessons is obligatory and participants are requested to sign attendance sheets.

A certificate of attendance is issued at the end of the course to those participants who have attended all classes.

 

Accommodation and Insurance

The Academy provides general information on accommodation in Florence and the surrounding area but successful participants are responsible for finding their own accommodation.

The Academy does not provide medical insurance and cannot cover medical fees. Participants are advised to purchase international medical insurance in their home country before leaving.
