Marc Bloch Prize in Modern European History (15th-21st centuries)
Every 2 years the Department of History and Civilization awards the Marc Bloch Prize in Modern European History to the best new MA thesis in early modern, modern or contemporary European history and in the History of Europe in the world.

Mariana Labarca Pinto was awarded with the 2012 prize for best postgraduate paper at the Social History Society (SHS) Annual Conference (Brighton, 3-5 April 2012) for her paper "Lorenzo Baldinotti's Insanity and the Shaping of Mental Incapacity: Interdiction Procedures in 18th Century Tuscany"
Giovanni Federico was nominated President Elect of the European Historical Economics Society for 2013-2015
Prof. Antonella Romano was awarded with the "médaille de la ville de Tours" at the Centre d'Etudes Supérieures de la Renaissance for her work on Renaissance studies.
The International 2010 Galileo Galilei Prize of the Italian Rotary Club has been awarded to Prof. Anthony Molho for his work in the field of Italian Economic History.
The Italian Association of Modern History awarded Prof. Federico Romero with the SISSCO Sintesi 2010 prize for the best-book of the year: Storia della guerra fredda. L'ultimo conflitto per l'Europa , Einaudi, Torino 2009.
