Europe in the World Forum (EuWorld)
The EuWorld Forum fosters discussion and research on the interlinking of Europe and other areas in the world as a way to understand contemporary Europe. Its focus reflects the HEC Department’s profile in comparative, trans-national and global history. Accordingly, we cover subjects as diverse as empires and imperialism, colonialism and decolonization, intercultural and inter-ethnic dialogue and violence, migrations, international and global economic relations in a long-term perspective. In stressing these approaches and fields, the EuWorld Forum also highlights Europe’s internal diversity as a space of different cultures and societies.
The Forum engages visiting fellows, Max Weber Fellows , Jean Monnet Fellows , Fernand Braudel Fellows , and scholars from the entire EUI community to join our conversation on writing a less Eurocentric and national history of Europe.
-
It coordinates historical research within the HEC Department and with other sectors of the EUI
-
promotes greater visibility of its themes
-
increases fundraising possibilities
In this way, it complements and co-operates with other EUI activities and programmes.
