Missions for Researchers
The Department supports the needs of its researchers in terms of field work and consultation of archives and materials strictly related to their research topic. It cannot, however, cover all the expenses related to the mission period: the department subsidy is intended to provide substantial aid for the part of the research which is to be developed outside of the Institute.
Researchers in the first three years are allowed up to two research missions per academic year, each lasting up to two months.
Second, third and fourth-year researchers are also entitled to ask for funding for participation in conferences where they will present a paper (a conference programme is requested upon submission). They may ask for one conference funding per year.
Mission funding is conditional on researchers having completed their requirements to date (June paper and second-year chapter requirement). It is not granted to researchers who are on exchange visits to other universities or on leave of absence.
-
Fill in the Mission Request form online, print it and sign it. Be sure that full information about the purpose of the mission and all details of your bank account with IBAN, BIC/SWIFT codes (if it is not an Italian bank account) are provided.
-
Researchers need their supervisor’s approval and signature before handing in the completed form to Mónica Palao . A short statement (no more than one page) specifying the aims of the proposed mission should be attached.
-
Mission requests must be submitted to the Department at least three weeks before departure for the planned mission.
