Law Working Papers

Contact: Rosanna Lewis

Working papers can be submitted by members of the department (professors, researchers, visiting fellows, former members) or external authors.

Proposal

A proposed working paper must be supported by one Law professor if the author is internal, or at least two Law professors, if the author is external. For the working paper to be published, the majority of faculty members present at the next relevant Departmental Meeting must give their approval.

To propose a working paper for publication, please submit it to one of the supporting Law professors, who will send the paper to his/her administrative assistant. They will in turn forward it as a PDF file to all faculty members at least 10 days before the Departmental Meeting for approval.

Formatting

After approval, Rosanna Lewis  will contact the author for the final version of the paper in Word format, a 250-word abstract, and a list of keywords. Authors/editors are advised to make sure that the final version is formatted as simply as possible, and to refer to the formatting guidelines  where possible. Internal authors should use the Law template for working papers . A designated research assistant will finalise the formatting. Documents submitted with elaborate formatting which would have to be undone and reformatted may be refused. Please note that external authors must sign an "Agreement to Publish" before it is sent for publication.

Once the formatting is complete, Rosanna  will send the working paper for publication.

Publication

Working papers are published in Cadmus, the EUI repository and publications database . The publication will be announced on the Law Department publications webpage. Law working papers can also be uploaded by the Library to the Social Science Research Network (SSRN)  and those dealing with European integration to the European Research Papers Archive (ERPA)  - please contact the Library  for more information about this.

Printing

A maximum of 28 copies of each Law working paper may be printed: 3 for the Library, 1 for the President and 24 (max.) for the author. Authors should inform Rosanna Lewis  of how many copies are required and which address they should be sent to (for external authors only). Additional copies may be ordered at the expense of the author.
