Biographical note
Alex Wilson is a Research Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS) and the European University Institute (EUI), where he recently defended his Ph.D. in Political Science (June 2009).
Alex has worked for the House of Lords EU Committee (London) and the European Commission (Brussels), holds an M.A. in European Political Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges), and a first degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford.
Research interests
Dr Wilson's research interests include comparative party politics and multi-level politics in the European Union. He is an expert on Italian and Spanish politics, and has published several articles in international journals.
He coordinates various research projects at the EUI-RSCAS, including studies of institutional change in advanced European democracies; bargaining dynamics of devolution in Western Europe; party politics and career paths in the European Parliament.
