Raffaella Del Sarto is Part-time Professor at the RSCAS and Adjunct Professor of Middle East Studies and International Relations, SAIS Bologna Center, Johns Hopkins University.
She directs the project on "BORDERLANDS: Boundaries, Governance, and Power in the European Union’s Relations with North Africa and the Middle East " for which she has been awarded a Starting Independent Researcher Grant by the European Research Council.
Research Areas and Interests
Her research interests include Middle East politics, particularly the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the European Union’s relations with North Africa and the Middle East. She is also interested in the politics and society of modern Israel as well as Israel's foreign relations, in particular with the EU. An additional research interest is International Relations theory, with a particular focus on the domestic-foreign policy nexus as well as the link between interests and identities.
