I work at the department of Social and Political Sciences under supervision of Professor Rikard Stankiewcz. My research interests include innovation and technological change, industrial dynamics and the formation of science and technology policies in the emerging technological systems.
Currently I’m working on a comparative study of the S&T policy responses to nanotechnology.
Before starting my PhD research project, I studied social sciences and computer engineering in Universities of Helsinki and Oulu (Finland) and University of Florence (Italy) and in University of Lapland (Finland) from where I obtained MSc in 2002.
After graduating I was a lecturer on various courses on quantitative research methods, computing and software development projects at the Oulu Polytechnic (Finland) in 2002-2005. During that time I also did graduate studies in information systems science at the University of Oulu.
I joined the EUI PhD program in 2005. My recent research focuses on comparing the formation of policy responses in the area of nanotechnology in Finland and in the Netherlands.
I'm also participating in PRIME/Nanodistrict2 and ETLA NANOREF projects.
Theoretical interests include technological systems, innovation processes and evolutionary approaches to technological systems; methodological skills include information systems design, statistical methods and social network analysis.
