Paolo Pin has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Venice. Before studying Economics he obtained a degree in Mathematics and a Diploma Course in Modelling of Complex Systems. He has visited for one year the Centre for Computational Finance and Economic Agents, at the University of Essex, and is now Post-Doc researcher at the United Nations’ International Centre for Theoretical Physics, in Trieste.
He focalizes his research on mathematical modelling for the Social Sciences. He has been working on computer based simulations, and game theoretical models for endogenous network formation. Now he is focusing his work on micro-founded models for social segregation, at one side, and financial markets, at the other.
Paolo shares co-authorships with, among others, Alain Kirman and Matthew Jackson. His papers appear (or are accepted for publication) in Journal for Economic Dynamics and Control and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
He has teaching experience, in Mathematics and Micro-Economics, at both undergraduate and graduate level, at the University of Venice.
