She is Assistant Professor at the Meiji University's School of Global Japanese Studies in Japan.

She received her PhD at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of the Johns Hopkins University in May 2009 and was a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow at the European University Institute (EUI) in 2009-2010.

Her research focuses on inter¬national political economy, as well as on the comparative politics of financial markets and their regulation in advanced industrial democracies including the U.S., Japan, and Germany.

She holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in law from the University of Tokyo.
