My research interests are moral theory, the law of equity and the interconnection between them. My most recent piece evolved around the concept of repentance (locus poenitentiae) in equity, it will appear in 2010 in a book on resulting trusts to be published by Hart (Oxford).

In my paper on ‘Guarding the Fiduciary’s Conscience’ (29 Oxford Journal of Legal Studies (2008) p. 763), I looked into the ethical foundations of the remedy for the breach of fiduciary duty. During my year at the European Institute I intend to continue with my work on the way in which ideas and concepts from moral theory inform the development of the law of equity.

I am presently a lecturer in law at King’s College, London, where I am teaching Equity and Trusts. Previously I was a law lecturer at Essex University, and a college lecturer in law at Mansfield College, Oxford.

In 2005 I got my D.Phil. from the University of Oxford (supervised by Professor Joseph Raz). The subject of my thesis was ‘Evildoing’. I have since published some papers on the topic (‘Satanic Motivations’, The Journal of Value Inquiry 41 (2007), p.77; ‘Taking Evil Seriously’ Oxford journal of Legal Studies 27 (2007) p. 741; ‘The form of Evil’ 14 The Kantian Review (2009), forthcoming), and I am now working on a manuscript on a similar theme. In addition I hold an MA in Philosophy from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and LLB in Law and English Literature from Bar Ilan University.
