Nadia Steiber completed her doctoral studies at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, in 2007 (D.Phil., Sociology). Currently, she is a Max Weber Fellow (2009-2010) and starting from September 2010 she will be a Marie Curie Fellow also at the EUI in Florence.

Her research interests focus on the cross-national comparative analysis of economic behaviour and labour market risks at different stages in the life course and the consequences of different types of employment for individuals and families. Her doctoral thesis investigates working time preferences, showing that the quality of work is a central factor shaping people's work motivation and labour supply decisions. During her time at the EUI, she will focus her research more on the later stages in people's work careers and examine retirement preferences and decisions from a cross-country comparative perspective.
