My research interests lie in the fields of macroeconomics and applied macroeconometrics. Employing Bayesian Vector Autoregressions and Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Models, I investigate the dynamic effects of fiscal and monetary policy interventions. Furthermore, I analyze how policy should be conducted when the policymaker is faced with uncertainty about the model, i.e. when neither the true model nor its parameterization is known.

Some research questions I plan to work on are for example: What is the effect of a cut in government expenditures? Should we cut taxes during a recession? Should the ECB pay attention to inflation only? What will be the effect of eastern European countries joining the euro area on the price level in those countries and the Eurozone respectively?

I expect to receive my Ph.D. in economics in 2008 at Humboldt University Berlin, where I also earned my Master degree in 2004. During my graduate studies, I visited Princeton University in 2006.
