2011 EUDO Dissemination Conference

2011 EUDO Dissemination Conference poster

On 9 and 10 November 2011, EUDO organized a Dissemination Conference on  Inclusive Democracy in Europe.  The Conference took place in the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels in order to fully connect EUDO activities to the EU Institutions.

Active participation in the democratic life of the Union presupposes broad access to electoral rights as well as access to Member State nationality. The conference aimed to disseminate comparative and updated knowledge about external electoral rights for non-resident citizens (in the EU and in third countries), internal electoral rights for non-citizen residents and how electoral rights influence the evolution and perception of EU citizenship as well new instruments and trends in political participation in the European Union. Academics, policy-makers and representatives of civil society discussed the research results in order to stimulate better practices.
