Durban Debrief: New Start or More of the Same?

The outcome of the recently concluded 17th Conference of the Parties to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change  in Durban, South Africa, has been praised by some, panned by many, and ignored by most.

At the seminar Barbara Buchner , Director of the Venice office of the Climate Policy Initiative, provided more perspective on what happened at Durban.

Presentation

An active participant in the proceedings at Durban as a representative of one of the most interesting global NGOs, the Soros-funded Climate Policy Initiative , headquaratered in San Francisco with offices in Berlin, Beijing, Rio de Janeiro, and Venice, she has been a long-time observer of the development of climate policy in her earlier work with FEEM in Venice and the International Energy Agency in Paris and she is the author of many articles on climate policy, particularly concerning emissions trading.
