The Global Governance Programme is directed by Miguel Poiares Maduro , who holds the Joint Chair in European Law with the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies and the Department of Law at the European University Institute. Research is conducted by senior affiliated scholars, having complementary backgrounds and interests, which cover the multiplicity of the issues global governance implies. In addition, a vibrant group of fellows is associated to the Programme, stimulating research through different projects, spanning social regulation, corporate responsibility, new forms of transnational governance and diplomacy.

The Global Governance Programme is supported by a team of research assistants, in charge of coordinating the Academy of Global Governance,   of fostering the institutional outreaching and networking, and of providing research support to the Research Strands coordinators. Three administrative officers have been assigned to the GGP for the executive management of the Programme as well as for logistical and secretarial issues.
