E-voting and the European
Parliamentary Elections PROJECT ENDED ![]()
The conference took place on May 10 and 11 2002 in Florence. One of the aims of the international conference is to bring together distinguished scholars from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds to discuss the feasibility, potential impacts and problems associated with introducing e-voting mechanisms within a European context. The organisers are particularly keen on stimulating interdisciplinary thought and feel that the subject matter provides a window of opportunity to breach some of the disciplinary walls that have emerged between technologists, social scientists and legal scholars. Moreover, close co-ordination with European Institutions, especially the European Parliament and European Commission, will help to ensure a constructive dialogue between scholars and policymakers on this important topic. |
