The Centre for Research on Ethnic Relations and Nationalism (CEREN) was established at the Swedish School of Social Science (SSKH) at the University of Helsinki in 1998. The centre’s aim is to conduct and support research and teaching in social science and the humanities. CEREN collects and disseminates Finnish research results, arranges relevant seminars and postgraduate teaching and develops national and international networks for research and teaching. CEREN also works together with official bodies as well as immigrant and minority groups in the struggle against racism and xenophobia.
