CIAL – http://www.uni-konstanz.de Centre for International and European Law on Immigration and Asylum The Centre for International and European Law on Immigration and Asylum was founded in 1994 by professor Kay Hailbronner. He holds a professorial chair for public law, international law and European law at the University of Konstanz, Germany. CIAL does not have its own web page so we direct you to the main page of University of Konstanz. COMCAD – www.comcad-bielefeld.de Center on Migration, Citizenship and Development The Center on Migration, Citizenship and Development (COMCAD) is concerned with theories, concepts, empirical research and the political management of global and local processes. It focuses on political, cultural and economic aspects of transnationalization in the fields of transnational mobility, political membership and development. COMCAD currently conducts research on multiple citizenship, changing forms of migration control and democratic legitimacy, transnational political practices of migrants, and return migration. It consists of 5 members and 7 associated members. ECMI – http://www.ecmi.de European Centre for Minority Issues ECMI was founded in 1996 by the governments of Denmark, Germany and Schleswig-Holstein. It is a non-partisan and interdisciplinary institution. The European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI) conducts policy-oriented research, provides information and documentation, and offers advice on minority-majority relations in Europe. It serves European governments and regional intergovernmental organizations as well as non-dominant groups in the European area. The early monitoring, study and resolution of ethnic tension and potential conflict in all regions of Europe - East and West - provides one of the major focal points for the activities of the Centre. EFMS – http://www.uni-bamberg.de:80/~ba6ef3/main_g.htm European Forum for Migration Studies EFMS is concerned with issues of migration and the integration of refugees in Germany and in Europe. The centre does research, gathers documentation, provides a consultancy service and publishes research. EMZ – http://www.emz-berlin.de/ European Migration Centre The European migration centre (EMZ) is a working group, which was created by different institutions in 1978. The organization seeks a close European-wide co-operation on migration and ethnicity. Activities range from work based on international research networks to consultancy on issues related to immigrants in Berlin. The EMZ also administers an on-line data base and an extensive library. IMIS – http://www.imis.uni-osnabrueck.de/ Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies IMIS focuses on migration, integration and intercultural problems. The institute includes scientists and non-local correspondent members from different approaches, fields and disciplines. The institute is an international centre for academic research and interdisciplinary exchange. It houses a specialized library and offers a well equipped research environment to members and to visiting scholars from Germany and abroad. MRG http://www.migration-research.org/ Migration Research Group The Migration Research Group (MRG), based at HWWI, is an interdisciplinary
team of researchers that was established in 2003. It includes experts
from Austria, Canada, Germany, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Switzerland
and the UK who specialise in the fields of micro- and macro-economics,
econometrics, demography, human geography, sociology, social psychology,
political science and international relations. The MRG has particular
expertise concerning the economic dimensions of migration, but seeks
to integrate this with insights and methodologies from political science,
sociology and demography. The MRG offers a range of information and
data about immigration, refuges and asylum to students, scholars, practitioners,
journalists and the general public. The information service included
