The Centre of research on European integration (CRIE) - The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence of the University of Siena presents the Jean Monnet multilateral research project “Initiative and Constraint in the Mapping of Evolving European Borders” along with the University coordinator of Oradea (Romania) and the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l'Europe (CVCE) Luxembourg Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 10.00 to 13.00 at Villa Salviati, seat of the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU).
The participants will be welcomed by the Director of the Archives, Dieter Schlenker. The meeting will be attended by professors who are also members of the Scientific Committee of the CRIE, project partners and promoters of the Master in European Studies “The Process of Building Europe” coordinated by the University of Siena in collaboration with fifteen European and non-European universities.
Also present will be Prof. Ariane Landuyt, Director of CRIE and coordinator of the MA programme (University of Siena), Prof. Ioan Horga coordinator of the research project (Univeritatea din Oradea), Dr. Cristina Blanco Sio-Lopez (CVCE) that will present the online platform of the project for which has been used a selection of documents found in the HAEU, and Professors Maria Manuela Tavares Ribeiro (Universidade de Coimbra), George Contogeorgis (Panteion University, Athens), Paul Alliès (Université de Montpellier I) , Carlos Pacheco Amaral (Universidade dos Açores), Stefan Bielanski (Uniwerytet Peadagogiczny Krakow), Paulina Astroza Suarez (Universidad de Concepciòn), Alexis Vahlas (Université de Strasbourg), Dorin Dolghi (Universitatea Babes-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca), and Anatoliy Kruglashov (Chernivtsi University).
This initiative fits into the framework of the final meeting for the academic year 2012-2013 of the interdisciplinary Master in European Studies “The Process of Building Europe”, which is the result of the scientific and educational cooperation which unites in the field of European Studies for more than fifteen years, a group of professors, almost all involved in the Action Jean Monnet programmes.
The group’s activities, supported from the outset by the European Commission and the Ministry of Education, University and Research in the framework of the internationalisation process of university studies, took the EU Silver Award for its characteristics as a pilot project in the field of teaching of European Studies, in 2007 for the launch of the Lifelong Learning Programme.
