The Second General Assembly of the Association “Friends of the Historical Archives of the European Union” was held in Florence on Friday 26 September 2014.
The number of members has grown steadily with 35 members of October 2013, to present 70 members including professors, researchers, archives depositors and archivists from the EU Institutions. About fifteen members joined the meeting to receive the annual report for the period 2013-2014 presented by the Association’s President Jean-Marie Palayret.
The Assembly discussed an international conference on the external relations of the EU which is to be held at the Historical Archives in Villa Salviati tentatively on 18-19 December 2014. The Friends expressed also a will to collaborate with the EUI Alumni Association in some of its activities.
Director Dieter Schlenker from the Historical Archives was pleased to inform the attendees about the publication of the Association’s web page.
“Friends of the Historical Archives of the European Union” is an independent, non-political, non-profit association, which gathers all those who wish to lend their support to the enrichment and knowledge of the Historical Archives of the European Union.
