Posted on 21 April 2015

During the Open Day on May 9 Villa Salviati, seat of the Historical Archives of the European Union, will host the works of art by the professors of the Academy of the Arts of Drawing. The beautiful setting of the villa, rich in history, culture and surrounded by impressive scenery, will welcome pieces of art by recognized masters, whose sculptures and paintings will be placed in the halls of the Grotto and among the gardens. This occasion serves to bear witness on the good relationship between the European University Institute and the Academy of the Arts of Drawing, whose ancient tradition makes it the ideal partner for this kind of art activities.

The artists will be:

Carlo Bertocci

Gianni Cacciarini

Rodolfo Ceccotti

Raul Dominguez

Luigi Doni

Andrea Granchi

Daniele Lombardi

Valentino Moradei Gabbrielli

Carlo Pizzichini

Gianna Scoino

Vittorio Tolu

The open exhibition, which will be held until June 15, takes place within the context of the art competition "Surveillance and Democracy in Europe". The contest, aimed at the students of the Fine Arts Academies from Florence and Carrara and organized by the Historical Archives of the European Union in partnership with the Academy of the Arts of Drawing, comprises the installation of a work of art in the gardens of the villa.
