New files for European Council of Municipalities and Regions

Posted on 02 June 2015

The updated inventory for the new transfer sent by the European Council of Municipalities and Regions (CCRE) which has its headquarters in Paris is now available online. There are an extra 146 files at the disposal of researchers, covering almost the entire first decade of the twenty-first century. Moreover, new accrual also includes 28 folders containing a rich patrimony of photos.

These files give primarily an insight into the main CCRE governing bodies, their meetings and seminars, the increasing network of international relationships with other associations gathering local and regional authorities. The documentation also bears witness to a range of activities which the CCRE had developed enormously in recent years, namely that of collaboration with European institutions in concrete projects on equal rights and opportunities in local administrations, environmental protection, diffusion of programmes for Europe-oriented schools. Furthermore, it is worthwhile to mention the set of files dedicated to the project for a European Convention that was led in the first half of the 2000s by Giscard d’Estaing, former CCRE President.

The CCRE fonds are freely accessible for consultation. The reproduction of documents is limited to 500 copies per researcher, per annum and per academic project.
