Paolo Ponzano transfers his collection of files to the Historical Archives of the European Union

PonzanoVisitMr. Paolo Ponzano recently transferred his collection of files to the Historical Archives of the European Union at the European University Institute in Florence. The collection consists of approximately 250 files containing documents on various topics of EU institutional nature. The files bear witness to Mr. Paolo Ponzano activities and responsibilities in the positions held at the European Commission since 1971, including Director for the Relations with the Council and Director and Principal Adviser on Institutional Issues. Since 2009, Mr. Ponzano has been a senior fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies of the European University Institute.

The purpose of the deposit at the HAEU is to promote research into, and knowledge of the history of the European Union. The Archives will make the files accessible and promote their consultation in accordance with the rules and regulations that apply to such public access. Now the archives will receive archival treatment and put in a descriptive inventory.
