Winners of the 2015 Edition of the Postgraduate Research Grants on European Public Finances announced

Posted on 14 September 2015

The European Court of Auditors and the Historical Archives of the European Union have announced the names of the two researchers who will be awarded with a grant scheme in the field of European public finance and the EU budget for this academic year. Claudia Gloazzo, with the research project “Financial Instruments to deliver Cohesion Policy. Do repayable forms of assistance better server the scope?”, and Claudio Sciancalepore with “The reform of public revenue between functional taxation and the protection of European Union’s own resources” will receive a grant that will enable them to consult the wealth of primary documents deposited by the EU institutions at the Historical Archives of the European Union in Florence.

The scheme, open to academic researchers from a range of disciplines, including law, political science, economics, sociology, public administration and history, aims to promote original research into EU’s public finances and the impact thereof, as well as into the development of the EU’s "external control" function, in addition to forging a community of researchers in this field.

The scheme began in 2007 and has since enabled original research in many areas: the role of the EU institutions, the evolution of compliance, the development of audit methodology, shared management in policy implementation, multi-level governance, regional policy, the emergence of institutional norms and values, etc.
