The inventory of the private papers of Georg Pröpstl is now online and documents can be consulted at the Archives

The private papers of Georg Pröpstl deposited in 2013 at the Historical Archives of the European Union are now completely inventoried and they are open for consultation.

Georg Pröpstl was a German scientist and from 1961 to 1976 he was director of EURATOM's Eurisotop bureau, which was entrusted with the coordination of national programmes on the industrial application of radioisotopes, conducted technological and innovation research into all industrial and economic sectors, and cooperated with the High Authority of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) and with the Commission of the European Economic Community (EEC). From 1977 until his retirement in 1984, Pröpstl acted as a consultant in DG III (now the Directorate General for the Internal Market and Industry), coordinating community scientific research programmes. Pröpstl was also a member of the Freie Demokratischen Partei (FDP) (German Free Democratic Party) and a board member of its extraterritorial group “Europa”.

The collection is composed of 159 archival files and 105 scientific publications of the EURISOTOP bureau, dating from 1959 to 1989. They are relating to the scientific and professional activities of Georg Pröpstl and the functioning of the EURISOTOP bureau.

The collecting is open for consultation following the 30 year rule.
