Upcoming book presentation: The Routledge Handbook of European Elections

Posted on 11 April 2016

On Friday 15 April the Historical Archives of the European Union, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies and the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the European University Institute will organise a book presentation for the The Routledge Handbook of European Elections edited by Donatella M. Viola with foreword by J. H. H. Weiler. The presentation will take place from 10:00 to 12:00 in Seminar Room 4 at Badia Fiesolana.

The book delves into the complex dimension of the European Parliament’s (EP) electoral contests across the European Community and European Union since 1979. After setting a general empirical and theoretical framework, this collaborative project presents original contributions of leading experts from virtually all corners of the European Union. Each case study adheres to a common template that makes it easy to compare data, methodology and outcomes.

Donatella M. Viola will present the book followed by a discussion with Jean Blondel, Alexander Trechsel , Wilhelm Lehmann and Jean-Marie Palayret.
