Posted on 18 May 2016

The Historical Archives of the European Union, in collaboration with the Direction of the Archives of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Association Friends of the HAEU is organising a conference Intersecting Sources and Research Paths in the History of the European Construction. The conference will take place in Paris from Thursday 30 June to Friday 1 July 2016.

Historiography of the European integration process has always been influenced by the access granted to public or private archives.

The conference will bring together researchers, archivists and witnesses of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Member Countries, the European Institutions and European foundations and organisations, to review the situation on the archival fonds which have been opened in recent times to the public which concern the European integration process, as well as the most recent historical works in the field. A final round table will take place giving an historical “stock taking” of Community action.
