Call for applications – Postgraduate Research Grant(s) programme of the European People's Party

Posted on 25 May 2016

The Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) in the European Parliament has created a programme of grants for researchers interested in the history, role and impact of Christian Democracy on the process of European integration.

The intention of the programme is to enable researchers interested in Christian Democracy and European integration to broaden their research through access to the primary sources held at the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) in Florence, at the EPP Group’s archives in Brussels and/or at the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Sankt Augustin – Bonn.

The programme is open to all current postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers, and applicants should be preparing a thesis, dissertation or scholarly article relating to Christian Democracy and European integration in one or more of the disciplines of human and social sciences.

The deadline for the applications is 30 June 2016, and the application with all supporting documents must be submitted in either English or French. Completed applications should include a presentation of the research proposal, annotated bibliography of sources, justification of the need to use primary sources, a statement of the applicant’s plans for scholarly publication of the research results and a list of previous publication as well as a letter of recommendation. The research itself and subsequent publications may be in any of the official languages of the European Union.

The successful candidate(s) will receive a research grant of 5.000€ which will be paid in two instalments: 3.000€ at the start of the research and 2.000€ after the publication of an article in an academic journal or a monography based on the research effected.
