About Encore

 

Encore is the new "search and discover" interface to the EUI Library Catalogue. It combines the simplicity of a basic keyword search, together with advanced information discovery and presentation features, including:

• Faceted searching. Along with your search results, Encore displays facets gathered from the records retrieved, from which users can easily refine searches by format of the material, collection, location, language, date, and more.
• Tag clouds. Users can also refine search results by clicking on tags derived from the subject headings used in the Library Catalogue.
• Enhanced content. Many results in Encore are enhanced with extra content such as book covers, tables of contents, abstracts, author biographies, and more.
• Latest materials. Titles recently added to the Catalogue that relate to your current search in Encore are displayed prominently.
• Improved design and navigation. Encore offers a modern design with a more simple and visual navigation.

Encore does not replace the classic Library Catalogue, but rather offers a different approach to locating the information needed.
