CD-ROMs
The EUI Library has many resources on CD-ROMs, including e-books, bibliographic databases, data sets, and other full-text collections. Most CD-ROMs are available at the Loan Desk for check-out and use on personal PCs.
Over 60 high-use CD-ROMs have been networked to provide direct access from Library computers using the software platform NetMan. Basic instructions for using this platforms is indicated below.
Please note:
-
Effective 08 June 2011, the "UltraNet" CD-ROM network platform was replaced by Netman
-
-
All CD-ROMs are listed in the Catalogue, including Remote (off-campus) access to the EUI CD-ROM Network is not possible
-
Accessing networked CD-ROMs on the NetMan platform
-
From on-campus, catalogue record links to NetMan CD-ROMs go directly to a page similar to the one pictured below. Remote (off-campus) access to NetMan CD-ROMS is not possible.
-
Do not close this window or navigate away from this page while using the CD-ROM, as this will break the connection.
-
Next, a small window labeled Connected Local Folder will open (users may need to disable pop-up blockers), similar to the one pictured below.
-
To save data from the CD-ROM, you must specify the location where the files should be downloaded. Users at public PCs in the Library should refer to documentation posted near computers for further instructions. Then click CONNECT.
-
If you do not want to save data from the CD-ROM, click CANCEL. The CD-ROM will still open but you will not be able to save any data.
-
Once the CD-ROM has opened you can change the download location or to add a location, if not previously specified, by clicking on the yellow folder icon on the original download screen.
