Economics Collection Profile
The Economics Collection at the EUI Library reflects (i) the evolution of literature and data in scholarly Economics and (ii) responds to the specific research and teaching requirements of the EUI Economics Department, the Max Weber Programme|, the RSCAS and other users of Economics literature campus-wide.
The Collection includes works on the application of time series methods to economic data, forecasting, non-stationary time series (cointegration and error correction) and the application of microeconometric techniques for panel data and limited dependent variable models.
Holdings in macroeconomics include the application of differential game theory to macroeconomic issues, labour markets, income distribution, exchange and interest rates, recursive macroeconomic theory, adaptative learning and macroeconomic issues in the Eurozone.
Microeconomic holdings include general equilibrium theory, oligopoly theory and the economics of imperfect competition. Works on game theory include applications to economic models with incomplete and asymmetric information, social choice and welfare economics.
The Library has a comprehensive collection of works on general statistical theory, applied mathematics and probability, calculus, data analysis and mining, mathematical modeling, optimisation, regression analysis, experimental design, survey methods and time series. The Collection includes works on the industrial economics, competition policy, international trade and multinational firms.
There is wide coverage of materials on the rôle of public policy in promoting international competitiveness, FDI and economic and monetary union in Europe.
The Collection includes both macroeconomic and microeconomic aspects of labour economics. Particular attention is devoted to family networks and unemployment in Europe, the family, education, labour markets, labour relations inside the firm and the evaluation of public programmes for labour markets.
The Goldsmiths'-Kress Collection online, combines the contents of the Goldsmiths' Library of Economic Literature at the University of London and the Kress Library of Business and Economics at the Graduate School of Business Administration in Boston. About 60,000 full text documents are available online. (The Collection is also available on microfilm on the ground floor of the EUI Library).
The Collection contains works on economic history and economic philosophy up to the mid-19th century. Content is predominantly in English, however there are many texts in other languages.
