Data on Return Migrants to Maghreb Countries
The EUI's Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies provides four data sets on return migration to the Maghreb countries.
The MIREM field survey on returnees to the Maghreb countries
The field survey comprises comparable data sets on returnees' patterns of reintegration in their country of origin (Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia).
The Database on Return Migrants to the Maghreb (DReMM)
DReMM provides information on the processes of reintegration of approximately 1,000 return migrants, and their post-return conditions in countries of origin.
Statistics on return migration to the Maghreb
Tables and graphs are made available by the MIREM team, giving statistics on return and readmission.
The formal and informal dimension of agreements linked to readmission
An agreements' database gives all bilateral agreements relating to readmission (eg. standard agreements, police coöoperation agreements, memoranda of understanding, administrative arrangements, exchanges of letters) that have been concluded and negotiated by Maghreb countries and the EU Member States since the 1950s.
The MIREM homepage provides an overview of the project and data.
A glossary of project terms is available on this project page .
The data can be accessed via the MIREM Project download page .
