Eurobarometer - Public Opinion Surveys in the EU


Data description 

Eurobarometer  survey data covers European social conditions, health, culture, the economy, citizenship, security, information technology, the environment, the Euro and European Union enlargement.

Each survey consists of approximately 1000 face-to-face interviews per EU member state.

 


Time period 

Standard Eurobarometer  coverage is from 1973 to 2011.

Reports are published twice yearly (spring and autumn).

How to access data  

Eurobarometer data are available from GESIS – the German social science infrastructure service provider (Gesellschaft Sozialwissenschaftlicher Infrastruktureinrichtungen) and also from the ICPSR data archive (Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research). 

 

GESIS-ZACAT

Eurobarometer series may be downloaded via this link .  It is necessary to complete the online registration form .

Use the small 'disk' icon at the upper right of the study page to download data.

ICPSR

EUI members also have access to all Eurobarometer files hosted by the ICPSR data archive . Data from ICPSR can only be downloaded by Library Administrator.  EUI members should follow these instructions:

Locate the required data study number(s) in the ICPSR data catalogue ,

Send the Study Number(s) by e-mail to econlibrary@eui.eu , indicating the format in which the data should be delivered (Stata, SAS &c),

Moderate-sized sets are sent via email attachment. Larger sets are placed on a Library FTP server and the FTP link sent by email. Very large sets are copied to disk for collection at the Economics Library Office (Badia 085).
