Indagine sui consumi delle famiglie (ISTAT, Italy)
The Indagine sui Consumi delle Famiglie (Survey of Consumption by Families) provides data on household consumption – goods and services bought or self-produced by Italian families. The survey is prepared by the Italian statistics agency ISTAT.
Data are collected on a monthly basis from approximately 3,500 households. Expenditure on goods not for household consumption are excluded from the survey.
The data facilitates analysis of the qualitative and quantitative evolution of household living standards, and a variety of social and territorial comparisons.

Data from 1987 to 2006 is in ~std.dat format.

Access to this data is restricted to current EUI members who have completed the registration procedure, as follows:

Complete the online EUI Data Registration Form (selecting 'ISTAT Consumption data' from the dropdown menu)

Sign the EUI 'Conditions of Use' agreement and the 'Confidentiality Declaration' at the Badia Library (Economics Office, 085).
Registered current EUI members can access the data directly from the K:\ drive .
