Panel Comparability Project Database

Data description

The Panel Comparability Project Database – prepared by CEPS/INSTEAD (Luxembourg) – provides international comparative data from national household panels in France, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Poland, Spain, the UK and the USA. The aim of the project is "the creation of a harmonised and standardised micro-database, from existing longitudinal studies on living conditions of households". The following panel studies are included:

British Household Panel Study (BHPS), 1991-1993

Enquete Socio-Economique des Menages en Lorraine/France (ESEML), 1985-1990

Hungarian Household Panel Study (HHP), 1992-1994

Polish Household Panel Study, 1987-1990 (PHP)

Panel Socio-Economique Liewen zu Letzebuerg/Luxembourg (PSELL), 1985-1992

Panel Study of Income Dynamics/USA (PSID), 1983-1987

German Socio-Economic Panel (GSOEP), 1984-1991

 

Time period

Data coverage is from 1983 to 1993.

How to access data

Access to this data is restricted to current EUI members who have completed the registration procedure, as follows:

  • Complete the online EUI Data Registration Form (selecting 'Panel Comparability Project Database' from the dropdown menu)
  • Sign the EUI 'Conditions of Use' agreement and the 'Confidentiality Declaration' at the Badia Library (Economics Office, 085).

Registered current EUI members| can access the data directly from the K:\drive|.

PACO data files are in Stata *.dta format.

Stata 10 manuals are located at 005.369 in both the VSP Reference Library and the Badia Library.

Stata 11 software and manuals are due for delivery in autumn 2009.

The Stata Bulletin| is at SER 51 on the garden floor of the Badia Library.
