Data description

PEQISThe Post-secondary Education Quick Information System (PEQIS) provides data on U.S. education planning and policy. PEQIS is managed by the National Center for Education Statistics (U.S. Department of Education).

PEQIS provides observations on institutions and state higher education agencies on post-secondary education topics using "an established, nationally representative panel of institutions. Sampling for the PEQIS panel was constructed from the 1990-91 Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System institutional characteristics' file. Institutions eligible for the PEQIS frame for the 1992 panel included two-year and four-year (including graduate-level) institutions and under two-year institutions of higher education located in the 50 federal states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico (5,317 institutions)."

 


Time period
  • Data from 1997 to 2014 is available via the National Center for Education Statistics PEQIS platform.
  • PEQIS was established in 1991.
