Data description 

The Panel Study of Income Dynamics  (PSID) is a representative longitudinal study of approximately 9,000 U.S. families since 1968. The PSID includes variables on economic, health and social behaviour.

Data is from 1968 to 2009.

How to access data 

EUI users can either (a) download data directly from the PSID site, or (b) request ICPSR-hosted PSID data.

 

(a) Downloading directly from the PSID site:

(b) Requesting ICPSR-hosted PSID data from the EUI Data Administrator:

  • Locate the required data Study Number(s) in the ICPSR data holdings catalogue 
  • Send the Study Number(s) by e-mail to econlibrary@eui.eu , indicating the format in which the data should be delivered (Stata, SAS &c.)
  • Moderate-sized sets will be sent via e-mail attachment. Larger sets will be placed on an FTP server and the link sent by e-mail.
