REGIO (Eurostat)
EU regional statistics are part of Eurostat's general database (Theme 1).
This page only describes REGIO data available on the EUI CD-rom server up to 2003.

Eurostat's regional statistics contain over 100 tables, divided into 8 statistical domains: demographic statistics; economic accounts; registered unemployment; labour force; energy statistics; agriculture and forestry; transport, and; research and development.
Eurostat uses a nomenclature of statistical territorial units (NUTS) – with subdivisions of (i) 77 NUTS-1 regions (ii) 206 NUTS-2 regions and (iii) 1031 NUTS-3 regions.

REGIO data CD-rom coverage is from 1970 to 2003. Start-dates vary, depending on member state accession.
Regional data online coverage is from 1970 to 2010. Start-dates vary, depending on member state accession.

REGIO is installed on the Library CD-rom server .
When downloading from the CD-rom server to Excel (or other formats) – use the D:\Temp drive or the A:\ drive.
