UNICEF Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys face-to-face surveys of children and women worldwide, are developed and harmonised by UNICEF and carried out by government organisations and international partners. The 4th wave of MICS is due for release in autumn 2011. The following waves are available:

The State of the World's Children (SOWC) interactive database allows the selection of indicators, geographical area and time period for official UNICEF statistics. The DevInfo software can also be used to generate maps and charts. Annual SOWC reports, 1996 to 2011, contain tabular statistical data (PDF) and analysis of welfare indicators.
Progress for Children is an annual assessment of the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals, 2004 to 2010, including tabular statistical data.
UNICEF TransMonee database
TransMONEE is a database of socio-economic indicators on the welfare of children, young people and women in CEE/CIS countries. The database is updated yearly. The database was initiated in 1992.
TransMONEE 2009 contains 164 economic and social indicators divided into 10 topics: population, natality, child and maternal mortality, life expectancy and adult mortality, family formation, health, education, child protection, crime and the economy.
Data is from the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
