  • International Bibliography of Periodical Literature - IBZ  als o known as "The Dietrich", has been published since 1896 and is an international and interdisciplinary bibliography of academic periodical literature mainly from the Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts. IBZ online contains over 2,553,260 journal articles from about 10,785 journals covering the years 1983ff. Approximately 120,000 entries are added to the database annually containing a subject classification. The article data in IBZ includes a subject classification in German and English based on the German Personennormdatei (name authority file -PND) and Schlagwortnormdatei (controlled vocabulary - SWD). Thus an easy and fast access to articles is ensured, unrespective of the language the original article was written in. Additionally a number of articles are included in the database which have not yet received the subject classification. Those articles can be accessed through the main index. Searching the database is possible through the main index, subjects, subject headings, publication year, volume and issue, author, title keyword, language, journal title, publisher, ISSN, ZDB-ID.
