General information for degree candidates
- 11:00-13:30 Check-in of registered degree candidates
- 15:00-17:00 Conferring Ceremony
- 19:00 June Ball
The participation fee is 50 Euro, including the diploma, the rental of the EUI academic gown and shoulder piece as well as DVDs with the video and photos of the ceremony.
Payment of the fee will be requested closer to the event.
Degree candidates are supposed to wear the EUI academic gown and shoulder piece during the ceremony. These garments may be rented or purchased. Information about the purchase price will be given later on.
Please indicate the number of guests who will attend the ceremony, excluding yourself. There is no limitation to the number of guests. Their participation in the ceremony is free of charge.
The degree candidates and their guests are kindly invited to attend the June Ball which will be held in the evening of June 9th. Information about the June Ball ticket prices and purchase will be given later on.
Please note that the degree awarded at the ceremony is a purely ceremonial degree. The official Ph.D./LL.M. diploma is issued by the EUI Academic Service after the thesis defence/at the end of the doctoral or master programme.

The first Degree Conferring Ceremony was organised in 1996 and the event was held bi-annually until 2002. Since then it takes place every year.
The ceremony is a unique opportunity for our alumni to celebrate their Ph.D. or LL.M. degree together with their family and friends and the whole EUI community.
