How to Apply

The content on this page only refers to the 2017-18 call for applications. The next call for applications, 2018-19, will be issued in early 2018. Updated information will be published in due course.

Application Form – Register Early, Submit by the Deadline


Deadline for applications was 8 May 2017 - (24:00 CEST) 

There are two distinct phases in the application process:

1. Register your application

2. Submit your application by the deadline

Once you have registered your application you may continue to work on the application details and attachments until the deadline. Submit the application only when you have filled in all the information correctly and have successfully uploaded the final version of the attachments.

After submission, it will not be possible to update or modify your application. 

Requested Documents

  • Prepare your CV in PDF
  • Prepare a letter of motivation (2 pages) in PDF, describing your interests and/or links with transnational policy issues, your future professional ambitions and the reasons to apply for the fellowship

Use standard international fonts and avoid macros, special characters and password-protected attachments.

Letters of References

  • The EUI does not request reference letters at this stage but candidates are asked to provide the names and contact details of two referees whom the EUI may contact.

Selection Procedure

Candidates are selected by a committee consisting of the staff of the programme. Final approval is made by the EUI Executive Committee. Their decision is final and there is no appeal.
