Leaving the EUI Checklist

  • Contact address: Leave a full contact address with your Department and with Academic Service.
  • Library: Return all material (books, locker keys) and pay any outstanding bills or fines. Check that your Library account is clear and closed.
  • Language Centre & Computing Service: Return all DVDs, manuals, CDs and settle any outstanding fees for courses, etc. 
  • Outstanding payments: Settle outstanding debts, such as loans, Van Breda payments, Crèche, EUI accommodation rent or bills. Call 2667 or email contabilita@eui.eu  to know the amount due. Payments should be made by bank transfer to the EUI account: Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze c/c 69156/00, IBAN IT 75 Z 06160 02800 000069156C00, SWIFT CODE CRFIIT3F
  • EUI card: Return your EUI badge/card to the porters at your EUI site.
  • Key to EUI flats: When your contract ends return the keys in person to Logistics Service (Housing Office). If you do not, the deposit will not be reimbursed.
  • Italian Ministerial ID Card: This card is the property of the Italian state and must be returned to the Ministry. To do this return it, even if it has already expired, to michela.menicagli@eui.eu , ext. 2373, Room 24, Bank Corridor. 
  • Workspace: Clear your Library locker and return locker keys to the Library Loans Desk. At other EUI sites return locker keys to porter.
  • Pigeon-hole: Clear your pigeon-hole and return key to the porters. Get someone to forward your post. The EUI will send back unclaimed mail after a month.
  • Bank account: Close your Italian bank account if no longer required. You will be charged if it is kept open, even if not used. Return all bank cards (Bancomat,Visa Electron) at least one week before the last cash withdrawal. Give the bank your new address.
  • Publications: Send full bibliographical references and electronic text of any publications made during or soon after your stay at the EUI to cadmus@eui.eu  for inclusion in the EUI Publications Repository.
  • Accommodation: If you are leaving a non-EUI room or flat vacant please send an advert to housing.office@eui.eu , ext. 2347 to post ‘Offers EUI’ webpage. If you are leaving a flat posted on the EUI housing database, ask the owner to reactivate the advert by sending a request to the Housing Office.
  • Alumni: See the Alumni Association website  and join the EUI on-line community.
  • National grant authority: Write to your grant authority or funding foundation about work carried out while at the EUI and of your plans for the immediate future.
  • Certificate of Attendance: You may request one Certificate of Attendance facsimile (Pdf)  or contact Academic Service (ext. 2322/2209) for a Word version of the form. Give seminar titles and professors' names exactly as they appear in the Department’s programme or web page.

N.B. EUI will not issue any certificate if you fail to return all Library, Computing Centre or Language Centre material, fail to pay all outstanding bills and fines (Van Breda, Crèche, Library, rent & bills for EUI flats) and return the Ministry ID Card, EUI keys.
