The Communications Service manages internal and external communication at the EUI through various projects and sub-projects, and is responsible for the following main areas of expertise and action:

In the field of external communication, the Service addresses the needs of the EUI on a global map.

With this in mind, the Service is tuned to higher education communications trends and monitors EUI's visibility world-wide, making sure it maintains its "corporate" image. Whilst analyzing the needs of the media, EU and national institutions, policy-makers, other organizations and prospective EUI members, and any other audience groups, the service's aim is to steer them all towards a better use of the EUI's communications assets and resources.

Managing communications means understanding and providing information to achieve the EUI's goals, e.g. communicating effectively the Institute's academic excellency, refining the Institute's role as the leading place in Europe on European Governance, and consolidating the European conference cycle "Debating Europe" and "The State of the Union".

In the field of internal communications, the Service aims to inform the EUI community on planned activities and important strategic decisions. The main goal is to obtain the active involvement and support of the academic community and administration in implementing the Institute’s aims, thus developing a feeling of ownership, as well as a respective common culture.
